March into Spring
March 20th is the first official day of spring and boy are we ready! Before you run outside to bask in the warmer weather, turn your attention to your house. It's been protecting you against the harsh winter weather so do it a favor and run through a quick maintenance checklist to make sure everything is in proper working order.
HVAC- Any time your system switches from one temperature setting to the other, it should be inspected by a professional to mitigate any potential damage and just to make sure everything is working properly. Don't forget to change your filters if you've been a bit distracted lately.
Plumbing- Cold weather can be brutal for your plumbing system. If you live in an area where freezing is the norm, you know that there is always the risk of frozen pipes bursting or hose bibs cracking. As you dust off your gardening equipment, carefully check each spigot and any exposed pipes for damage. At the first sign of trouble, give your trusted plumber a call. You never want to wait until you have an unusually high water bill to fix an issue.
Roof and gutters- Added weight from snow and debris like leaves and twigs puts a strain on your roofing system and restricts visibility so if anything has gone wrong with your roof during the winter, you may not have noticed. Get any lingering debris removed and schedule a detailed inspection to catch weak spots or damage.
Electrical- Winter time takes a toll on your electrical system. You may be overloading your system and not even know it! Space heaters and electric blankets add to the electrical load on your system. It also doesn't help that staying inside more raises the demand for electrical devices for entertainment.

What Our Clients Are Saying:
We had a boiler that stopped working on a very cold day, so I went to my community discussion board, and found A Custom Heating & Air Conditioning. We reached out to them, and they came out quickly; it was very easy to schedule. They were professional, friendly, and knowledgeable, and were able to finish the job in about 3 - 3 1/2 hours. This was our first time using them, and for sure will be using them again- Victoria A.
