Quick Ways To Clean A Drain
One simple method for clearing small clogs is to use a tried-and-true
combination of baking soda and vinegar. Empty one-half cup baking soda down the
drain, followed by one-half cup white vinegar. Cover the drain and let mixture
stand for a few minutes. Then pour a pot of boiling water down the drain. The
baking soda and vinegar dissolve fatty acids, allowing the clog to wash down the
drain.

Water Damage Prevention
Most homeowners’ policies cover damage from
accidents and failures, such as damage from a burst pipe. What is not usually
covered is damage caused by a lack of ongoing maintenance. Most water damage
claims start with a simple leak or drip and can be prevented. Routine checks may

Around The House - Tip of The
Month
For a quick fix on copper pipe, small leaks, keep
handy an easy repair kit. All that is needed is a hose clamp and a small piece
of firm rubber, such as small section of garden hose. Simply insert the rubber
around the leak and clamp. It will save you from having to drain the system,
until you have more time on your hands. The clamp and rubber section of hose
helped me out of a few jams, especially if you don't have copper or solder on
hand at the cabin, it could save the weekend! Remember: clamp and rubber, plus
screwdriver.
